The refurbishment of the Craddock Street play area, which was put forward to Durham County Council’s (DCC) Towns and Villages programme as a project by Councillor Pete Molloy, has taken another step forward towards it’s completion.
This project has now officially been awarded by procurement and orders have been placed with the company to carry out the installation.
The equipment will now be manufactured with an estimated timescale of 12 weeks, with DCC expecting to receive an installation date as the manufacturing process is nearing completion.
Once DCC receives confirmation they will update all councillors accordingly as well as letter drop all residents surrounding the site to make them aware works are due to start.
Clean and Green have the new shrubs on order and are looking to plant them towards the end of October.
The image is of the design of the play equipment for junior school aged children which was chosen by members of the public. There will also be new metal goals and a small tarmac track.
