Bishop Auckland Girls FC have expressed their appreciation to local businesses Spice Lounge, Victorian Sweet Cart Company, Auckland Caravan Storage, Cruise 365 and Mira Showers for their generous sponsorship of the Under 10s/11s/12s/13s and 15s match strips.
Currently the club have in excess of 100 girls from the ages of 5 up to Ladies, having started with just over 40 girls in September 2012. There are six teams affiliated with Durham FA, with five teams playing in the Russel Foster League.
The Under 11s have had a great first season, finishing 3rd in the league, and are looking to attract girls from school year 6 in preparation for their move to 9-a-side next September.
The Under 10s were unbeaten in their league, winning all 21 fixtures, scoring over 150 goals and only conceding 7.
The Under 12s have two fixtures to play and are also likely to finish 3rd in their league. The Under 13s, 15s and Ladies have also made positive starts to their season.
Teams train on a Wednesday at King James Comprehensive, 4G pitches (during winter months) with the younger age group (5-8 year-olds) training on a Saturday morning.
The club would welcome interest from all girls/ladies regardless of ability and offer opportunities for those wishing to coach girls’ football.
