Last month saw Cornerstone Supported Housing and Councilling and Furniture by Cornerstone SH supply a massive 20m x 10m outdoor building for Shildon Alive’s community garden.
Designed to be light and airy and built by the team, it will provide a fully working classroom and will be used for outdoor activities, a social area and space for people of all ages including toddlers to experience true outdoor play and learn about nature.
Cornerstone is a charity in Hartlepool and Bishop Auckland that provides food, water, heat and temporary and permanent accommodation in return for vocational training in furniture by Cornerstone SH manufacturing sheds and garden furniture, including restoration of furniture in their Bishop unit.
The project was funded by UKSPF and Shildon Alive were thrilled with their new usable space.
Nikki Morson the communications and support lead from Cornerstone told the Crier: ”I’m grateful that Shildon Alive chose to carry out the work with us, ensuring the money went directly back into the community through their homeless support efforts.”
