Ferryhill Neighbourhood Police Team recently accessed a property in the town following following reports of drug activity.
“Catching drug dealers is a huge priority for our neighbourhood teams,” said a spokesperson.
“On the morning of Wednesday, 24 January, officers descended on a property on Croft Gardens in Ferryhill following reports of drug activity.
“Once inside the address, neighbourhood officers located more than 100 cannabis plants which were dismantled and seized.
“They also arrested an 18-year-old man, who was found inside the property, on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and abstracting electricity.
“He has since been charged and will appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court.
“Anyone with information in relation to drug activity in their area is asked to contact police via our 101 live chat function.
