The Town Team Meet up and Clean Up is a campaign that aims to bring the Town Team, residents and neighbourhoods together in a joint effort to make Shildon a tidier, safer and cleaner place to enjoy and helping restore pride in our town and we would love to get as many members of the community involved,” said Kathryn Mortimer who is leading the initiative with the support of newly developed team of volunteers which make up Shildon Town Team.
“Come and join us on our community litter pick on Saturday 2 July, meeting at 11am outside Shildon Town Council. All litter picking equipment is provided.
“This is just one of the many forthcoming activities that the Town Team have planned for 2022, with an extra special event to formally launch the group within Shildon in the coming weeks!
“The town team is run by volunteers within the community for the community. We are looking to put back people’s pride in the town through community involvement and projects. We are always looking for volunteers and ideas so if you would like to get involved then please do get in touch.
“Come along, meet new people. All children to be accompanied by an adult.”
