As Durham’s Brass Festival looms large, bands are getting ready for the big one with mini Brass Bashes across County Durham, including the Little Brass Bash in Spennymoor Market Place on Thursday 13 July from 6pm until 8pm.

The free gig will feature three of the festival’s fabulous brass street bands: Back Chat Brass, Dat Brass and Fat Brass.

Rooted in pop, funk and hip hop, Back Chat Brass’s brassy beats give soul to any party and lift the roof at any gig Since 2016, the band have been wreaking havoc in venues around the world, coaxing even the stubbornest of dance-phobics from their seats out their signature take on your go-to hits.

London-based DAT Brass have been carving their own path through the UK music scene. Their sound frames incendiary bass energy, cerebral turntablism, and a detailed horn section in intricate compositions, which in reality doesn’t describe one tenth of their show.

Fat Brass are an explosive lip-splitting brass tour de force, effortlessly splicing tunes at the top of the charts with deep cuts from the very bottom of the crate.
