Jesse Read-Forster from Ferryhill, whom we reported in issue 1173 had taken on the challenge of walking 100 miles to raise funds for the National Autistic Society has successfully completed the task and raised a total of £625 in the process, for which the society presented him with a medal for his hard work.
But it is not the only medal Jesse, who himself has autism, has received.
Jesse has also recently received a letter from the Blue Peter team congratulating him on “doing lots of wonderfully kind and helpful things, including all your wonderful walking frundraising for the autism charity.”
Along with the letter, the team also presented Jesse with its Silver Blue Peter Badge “which is for those who have shown kindness and helped others”.
Jesse is continuing with his efforts to help others and volunteers weekly at the Bright Futures Community Pantry.
