If you are aged between 6 and 14 years, have you ever considered joining the Beavers, Cubs or Scouts? Weekly meetings are held in the Scout Centre at Kingsway, Bishop Auckland and costs just £13 per month with all subscription fees being reinvested into organising activities for all members.
These activities include rock climbing, outdoor camping, canoeing, gardening, team games, arts and crafts, star gazing, home help skills, first aid and many more.
The groups guarantee to help children to develop their confidence and their sense of adventure, in the hope that they can gain skills for life.
As a charity, the groups are volunteer led which means that they really do put back what you give into making sure that the young members get the best out of scouting.
Beavers (ages 6-8 years) meet on Wednesdays from 6pm to 7.15pm.
Cubs (ages 8-10 years) meet on Tuesdays from 6.30pm to 8pm.
Scouts (ages 10-14 years) meet on Fridays from 7pm to 9pm.
Cubs have been working hard since the summer to produce some beautiful art work around ‘Our Place’ and the impact of plastic, using recycled materials. They will be showing this work on Tuesday December 17 from 6-30pm to 8-30pm.
