Ferryhill Town Council would like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended the Town’s Remembrance Sunday Parade held on Sunday, 9 November, and Armistice Day service held in the Town Hall garden on Tuesday, 11 November.
Remembrance provides a national opportunity to honour the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces in defending our democratic freedoms and protecting our way of life. ‘We will remember them.’
A special thank you goes to Les Lewis of St. Luke’s Church for delivering both Services, to Andrew Potts for performing the Last Post and Reveille, and to ex-serviceman Paul Gray, 5th Regiment of the Royal Artillery for raising and lowering the Union Flag.
Ferryhill Town Council would also like to acknowledge the hard work carried out by Ferryhill Remembers in creating the fitting poppy tributes displayed around the Town to mark the occasion. It is humbling to see the community coming together to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
