A new Shildon-based support service is offering a hand of friendship for people who feel lonely or isolated.
Friends @ Foundation is a new weekly service, starting on Monday 22nd June, and running from 1-3pm from the Foundations office at 51 Church Street.
“Anyone wishing to meet new people for a friendly chat and a cuppa or try their hand at some of our activities is very welcome to come along,” said project coordinator, Luan Deakin.
There are a wealth of activities available including: board games; gardening tubs; Reiki sessions; a book club; console games; use of an IT suite; volunteer opportunities; football stadium tours; musical bingo; a creative writing course; simple baking; special interest talks; guided walks; craft sessions; exercise, health and nutrition advice; financial advice; outings and trips and movies.
