With Spring finally creeping into our beautiful workshop space at the Eco Centre in Newton Aycliffe, writes Laura Towns of Greenfield Arts, we are looking forward to sharing it with our community.
Thank you to all of our Dip into Art participants who made the last ten weeks so creative, it was brilliant to see so many new skills and techniques being shared. This has been a great success with lots of new faces and people returning to an inclusive and fun initiative.
We have some exciting new workshops on offer. To keep in the Eco spirit and to celebrate the recent World Book Day, we are hosting a new workshop by mixed media artist Sharron Bates where you can combine creative skills to make something beautiful to take home.
Bookbinding will be held on March 28 and will include the chance to create your own artwork on cover to personalise for yourself or for a gift.
Our Cree men have excelled themselves once again by creating a full species of bird boxes, creating homes for the spring for our wildlife.
The men are busy learning new skills that benefit the community and improve their own wellbeing and have been supportive of a range of projects to help others.

Our brilliant Creative Explorers are busy being green and making use of recycled materials to create and learn new skills.
Led by artist Dawn Belshaw the groups have been making lovely items from plastic, eco printing and making insect hotels.

The holiday activities will be held in Shildon and Aycliffe and are very popular and free! Come along and join us on Thursday 11 April from 10am to 11.30am at the Shildon Civic Centre in Shildon.
