Chilton Community Fund recently made the decision to use £1,000 of fundraised money to provide ‘keep warm winter’ packages consisting of a warm fleece blanket, hot water bottle and a pair of thick winter socks to 50 people within Chilton’s community.
“To receive a package, we asked for anonymous nominations with a name and address to which we then delivered,” explained a spokesperson. “We’ve found the response to these packages mind blowing, just how many people are actually sitting cold in their homes is truly astonishing. We hope these packages help keep people warm even if only a little.
“So thank you to everyone who has donated, bought tickets to any of our events or even bought a bonus ball or raffle ticket. Every little bit really does help!”
