Thanks to funding secured via the 4Together Partnership totalling £35,000, Ferryhill Town Council is planning a series of improvements to the Dog Walking Area at Dean Bank Park.
The area has been renamed Brian Avery Walk after the late County Councillor, Brian Avery, who championed the facility from the beginning, and who sadly passed away in recent years.
The facility will see several improvements being made including the installation of a shelter, tarmac footpath, a tree planting scheme with additional bins and potentially incorporating dog agility facilities.
A spokesperson said: “The Town Council would like to say a huge thank you to 4Together Partnership and County Councillors Peter Atkinson, Curtis Bihari and Joe Quinn for contributing funds through the Towns and Villages Fund and their Councillor’s Neighbourhood Budget allocations.”
Mayor, Councillor Curtis Bihari said: “Ferryhill Town Council is committed to improving its facilities for the benefit of the local community.
“This project will improve an already popular dog walking facility, which myself and my fellow County Councillors Peter Atkinson and Joe Quinn are only too pleased to support.”
