Monday – The team were investigating two incidents which occurred over the weekend: an assault at a pub in the Market Place and the other involved disorder at a local takeaway. Enquiries are still ongoing.
Tuesday – Monthly meeting involving Ferryhill NPT, Durham County Council’s ASB team and the Youth Offending Team to discuss a number of recent issues/incidents. PCSO Beth and PCSO Jo attended The Woodlands Primary School and presented a PowerPoint on Crime and Consequences and a range of activities for the children.
Wednesday – Officers assisted in the Crook/Barnard Castle area regarding a policing operation.
Thursday – A 40-year-old woman was arrested for breach of bail and failure to attend Crown Court. She has been remanded to appear at Crown Court on 7th August.
Friday – A 15-year-old boy was arrested for burglary and possession of an offensive weapon. He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries by the crime team.
A vulnerable man presented at Ferryhill police office and was supported by local officers and signposted to appropriate support services.
Saturday – The team were investigating two incidents of theft in Ferryhill Market Place. Enquiries are still ongoing. Officers also attended a public order matter in West Cornforth, and an active investigation is underway.
Sunday – Officers interviewed a juvenile in relation to an arson. The team have also assisted in a scene preservation in the Ferryhill area. Between Monday and Friday, the team have had to maintain a crime scene in the Chilton area following a serious assault last week. This crime scene has since been stood down.
We have continued to support Operation Pave throughout the week with police and PCSOs conducting foot patrols in the designated area of Ferryhill Market Place and Dean Bank.
Our two drone operators were also in action in the local area, assisting with some of the above incidents using the drone funded by the Area Action Partnership.
