Ferryhill girl, Ashleigh Craggs has won a place in the prestigious final of Ms Galaxy-UK 2025. Ashleigh recently won the title of Ms County Durham. This means that she will be competing in the grand final in March with girls from all over the country.
Ashleigh says: “I am beyond excited to have made it to the final. It is a great achievement and I cannot wait to meet all of the other girls and represent County Durham in such a huge competition!”
The winner of Miss Galaxy-UK will travel to the USA with contestants from all over the world, to compete in the Miss Galaxy International final, which is being held in the summer of 2025. The international final is a once in a lifetime opportunity and will be a truly amazing experience.
The UK has enjoyed some incredible success at the Galaxy International Pageant, winning an international crown nineteen times and having placements in every division for the past five years.
The final is being held in March 2025 at The Park Hall Hotel, Chorley and is set to be an exciting and glamorous event.
Ashleigh continued: “I am touched the way local businesses have come together to offer support on my journey to the finals by sponsoring me. Bronzing Beauty, In-skin Studios, David Rothwell, Dan the Van, Work Ready Training, Carr Modifications, Natasha Bruce Aesthetics, Skin Works by Erin, ER Creative, Essence Hairdressing have all pulled together with funding and supporting my journey and campaign.”
Ashleigh is always looking for more support in her mission to get to the finals. You can do this by contacting her to become a sponsor or donate to Little Treasures, a local autism charity caring for autistic people within our community. You can also contact Ferryhill Family Hub which is a great place to get information and support.
Says Ashleigh: “As Ms County Durham, I am using my platform to continue my campaign ‘Beyond the Puzzle’ which is a mission to raise awareness of autism and promote acceptance and inclusivity in our area, as well as awareness of the resources available in County Durham to support families and neurodiversity in our community. I will be working closely with Little Treasures, Durham Learn and Ferryhill Family Hub to bring knowledge and resources.”
Ashleigh continued: “I am a mother of a beautiful six year old boy named Carter and he is kind loving and playful but also autistic. My campaign is centred around the inspiration I draw from him every day and his sweet and loving nature. People are not defined by one thing and neither should the neurodiverse.
“By following my Instagram page you can keep up with the steps in my journey and ‘Beyond the Puzzle’.
“In addition to my campaign I will also be raising money for Ms Galaxy’s focal charity which is ‘The Christie Charity’, an NHS Cancer charity.”
More information can be found on their website www.christie.nhs.uk.
“The Christie Charity raises money for a range of projects and initiatives focusing on four main areas: research, care and treatment, education and extra patient services.
These services are above and beyond what the NHS provide, enabling The Christie to give their patients the best care and treatment possible.”
