St John’s Church and St Mark’s Church will be saying a sad farewell to the Revd. Emma Harte and sending her off with many prayers as she embarks on her new ministry in Darlington.
On Sunday 24th August Emma will preside at her last services at St John’s Church, Shildon and St Mark’s Church Eldon.
She has served as Assistant Curate for just over three years in the parishes and now moves on to be Vicar of St Herbert’s and St John’s in Darlington.
Everyone in the churches and across the parish will be sad to see her go.
She is a much loved minister who has been deeply involved across the parishes in all aspects of ministry.
In addition to leading regular worship, Emma has been a governor at St John’s Primary School, run the church toddler group for the last 3 years, helped lead the monthly Messy Church, led services at Holly Lodge and Redworth House care homes, helped at Shildon Alive as well as taking many weddings, christenings and funerals.
“It will be a very sad day saying goodbye to Emma on Sunday,” said Revd. Carol Harris, priest in charge at St John’s Shildon, “She is very much part of the church family who always shines so brightly the love of God wherever she goes.
“We hold her in our prayers as she leaves and pray that she has a fruitful and life-giving ministry at St Herbert’s and St John’s.”
Everyone is invited to join us on Sunday to say goodbye to Emma.
The service at St John’s will be at 10am and the service at St Mark’s at 11am.
