Fake Gun Threat

Two men are to face a Crown Court trial after threatening a man in Bishop Auckland with a fake gun.

Craig Wallace believed that unlawful violence would be used against him in the town on August 17th.

James Mosley, aged 18, of Trevithick Close, Darlington and Anthony Edward Nixon, aged 19, of Moorside, Spennymoor, were jointly charged with possession of an imitation firearm when they appeared before Newton Aycliffe Magistrates recently.

The ‘weapon’ was in fact a lighter shaped as an M 92 Beretta.

The two defendants indicated no pleas and were granted unconditional bail to appear at Durham Crown Court on November 12th for a preliminary hearing.
