Endeavour Woodcrafts would like to thank Liam Fellows and all his staff at Ferryhill Leisure Centre for their kindness and hospitality over the last two weeks.
A spokesperson for the group said, “We have really enjoyed the time spent there with both days in and days out while the Old Fire Station has had a new roof fitted, thanks to funding received from the People’s Postcode Lottery.”
Endeavour Woodcrafts offer a day service for adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues.
They provide training in woodwork within a real manufacturing environment. Individuals are involved in all aspects of the manufacturing and selling process, learning new skills, and also developing life and social skills.
The group never cease to have fun. On 26 May, they had a day out at Durham. Refusing to let the weather ruin their fun, they were able to explore Durham City, the Cathedral and stop for some lunch.
Recently, dream catchers have been decorated, outdoor crafts created and some scones have been eaten with a cuppa in the sunshine.
