Friends and family of Miss Debra Claydon and Mr Stuart Wood gathered to witness their marriage at Saint John’s on Saturday 24th June.
The bride looked stunning in a full length white dress with an embroidered lace collar and was carrying red roses and white gypsophila.
She was accompanied by five bridesmaids; Kelly Claydon, Louise Preston, Melissa Leighton, Sophie Hutchinson and the couple’s daughter Megan Claydon Wood.
The bridesmaids were led into church by their five flower girls, Abbe Claydon-Wood (the couple’s youngest daughter), Brooke Kirtley, Maddie Larkings, Katie Leighton and Aaliyah Chambers.
Debra, better known as Debbie, was walked down the aisle by her Dad Walter, whilst the Best Man, Johnny Comerford, stood with the groom, supported by the couple’s son, Jo.
Andrew Wood was groomsman and also looked after the music.
Described by one guest as one of the happiest weddings they had been to, Revd. David conducted the ceremony, with the guests retiring to the Civic Hall for the reception.
The couple, now known as Mr and Mrs Claydon-Wood then enjoyed a few days away at an undisclosed location before returning to their home in Weardale Walk, Shildon.
