BERCS back on their bikes

The Boys of Elm Road Cycling Society (BERCS) will take on their fifth biannual cycling challenge on July 8th and 9th to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Prostate Cancer UK.

The coast to coast route will include visits to North East football grounds, starting at Gretna before moving on to Carlisle, Newcastle, Sunderland, Hartlepool and Middlesbrough before finishing at Shildon.

The full route will see the BERCS cycle a total of over 160 miles.

Commenting on their latest adventure, the BERCS, who consist of B Burn, P. Wild, I. Wickins, G. Scott, J. Haines, G. Coley, N. Franklin, K. Wild, M. Lowery and R. Cockerill said: “We would appreciate any donations or support to raise money for these two worthy causes.
Johnnie Peacock’s taxi has kindly agreed to take us to Gretna so we would like to extend a big thank you to him.
