Shildon AFC, having secured a draw away from home in a six-goal thriller at Witton Albion on Saturday, were unable to take advantage of the home midweek replay – played at Crook Town’s Sir Tom Cowie Millfield stadium – on Tuesday evening, with the visitors comfortably securing their place in the next round with a 0-3 win.
First half goals from Tom Hoyle (26) and Adam Bott (33) were added to by James Larwie on 65 minutes to ensure the visitors would travel the long journey home to Cheshire in celebration.
Shildon now return to league action, travelling to third-place North Shields on Saturday, albeit having played half as many games in the league due to cup fixtures.
The Railwaymen then travel locally to West Auckland for a Tuesday evening derby kicking off at 7.30pm.
