Thursday 26th September saw St John’s School transformed into a sea of colour, culture and languages, from Europe and beyond. ‘The European Day Of Languages’ is always a big event in the MFL calendar at the school, and this year proved to be the biggest and best to date.
110 students descended on the school from twelve Catholic Partnership schools across the region.
After hot chocolate and croissants, they took part in five exciting sessions in Spanish pop music, French fairy tales, Italian ice cream making and marketing, Japanese language and culture and Hindi and Bollywood dancing. At lunch-time students feasted on some of Europe’s most famous culinary delights.
The day allowed students to not only experience how studying an MFL has far more to offer than simply lessons in a classroom, but also making new friends from across our region.
A spokesperson for the school commented, “As a school and MFL department we were delighted by the success of the day and to have the opportunity to showcase our fabulous department.”
