Spennymoor Labour Town Councillors, Anita Lowther and Stephen Gilling organised a food collection for the local foodbank at St Paul’s Centre recently. They contacted branch member, friends, family and also the Half Moon at Kirk Merrington and reported a fantastic response.
“We wanted to collect for the school holidays,” said Cllr Lowther, “as we know how difficult this can be for families, especially during this cost of living crisis. We would like to thank The Half Moon, our members, friends and family who donated so generously.
“The amount we collected meant the foodbank could provide 330 meals for our community. If you would like to help, please drop donations in at St Paul’s Centre, Spennymoor.”
