Last week, Ferryhill Town Councillor, Curtis Bihari was invited to Supportive on the Dean and Chapter Industrial estate to meet with CEO John Davison and Shared Services Manager, Jill Shaw.
Supportive is the largest employer in Ferryhill, providing community support through a range of services including hospital transport, home2school transport and home care.
As a registered charity, they are rooted in the heart of the community, delivering valuable services, not only to residents in Ferryhill, but also the wider area.
Cllr Bihari was invited along to learn about their new focus on tackling social isolation and well-being.
He said: “Supportive are a fantastic local employer delivering an essential service. I am absolutely delighted to support their efforts towards tackling social isolation among Ferryhill residents.
“As part of the Ferryhill Community Survey we found social isolation was an issue that needs addressing and I’m happy to support their efforts.”
