A Macmillan coffee morning, organised and hosted by St John’s Church on the afternoon of Saturday 1st October raised over £500.
Crowds gathered, showing their gratitude to the Macmillan nurses for the support they or their families had received.
Raffle tickets were bought with some great prizes won while home baking and gallons of tea and coffee were consumed.
The famous ‘guess the spots on the cake’ Macmillan game was won by Rev’d David Tomlinson to cries of “fix” from the laughing crowd.
Rev’d David commented: “Caring is what it means to be Christian and caring for those in what may be the most vulnerable time of their lives is what Macmillan do.
“We are so grateful to everyone who has baked, organised, and supported. Thank you.”
