Co-op support local youth team with new strips

NA-Juniors-football-stripThe Co-operative Funeralcare, Darlington Division, has provided new strips for Newton Aycliffe Junior Football Club’s under-14s, who train at Sunnydale Leisure Centre in Shildon.

This is a new team for Newton Aycliffe Football Club for this season, although some of the members have played for the club in the past in the TJFA league on a Sunday morning.

Tina Greaves, Club Grants & Sponsorship Officer said, “Having a smart new kit makes the children feel they are part of something special and gives them extra confidence when they play in a match. The club offers more than just sporting opportunities, it also develops social skills. The children make friends for life here, but it can be hard getting sponsorship for the older teams, which is why we are so grateful to The Co-operative Funeralcare.”

Funeralcare’s Darlington Division manager Jenette Sisson said, “We have supported quite a few football teams for children and adults in the past. Clubs like Newton Aycliffe are great because they promote healthy living by getting children outdoors and active”.
