Chilton Christmas Lights

The community came out in force to enjoy the entertainment.

On Friday 24th November Chilton came out in force to see the Mayor, accompanied by both the Junior Town Mayor and Gala Princess, turn on the Christmas Lights at at 6.30pm, signalling Christmas is on the way.

Entertainment for the evening began at 5pm with Mama Said braving the bitter cold to put on a wonderful performance.

Similiarly, Ferryhill Town Band played for the Carol Service as well as a set of Christmas music.

Legacy and Ignite Entertainment were able to bring Jack Frost, the Snow Queen and attendants, as well as various other Christmas characters.

But the big attraction was the Grinch! The young people loved him!

Richardson Entertainment provide a fun fair while food and hot drinks were provided by Angela’s Coffee Pot and The Patriot.

There were craft stalls in Hutton House to tempt Christmas shoppers, and the man himself, Santa, gave a brief visit to quickly see the children.

He has promised to come back and spend more time with the children on Saturday 2nd and 9th December from 10am to 2pm in Hutton House.

Town Mayor, Cllr Pearl Malpas said: “It was a great event, enjoyed by the whole community. So many came out, even in the bitter cold.

“Thank you to Ferryhill Town Band and Mama Said and all the other groups involved who always support our community events. We really appreciate this”.
