Chikara Dojo members.

Eleven members from the famous Chikara Dojo in Spennymoor passed their gradings recently.

They were put through their paces by Chief Instructor Adam Walker (4th Dan), Instructors Lee Corner (1st Dan) and Rainen Harper (1st Dan).

From the kid’s class, Solomon Kent, Aidan Makonza and Jake Jackson gained their white belt tags; Jack Murfet and Lincoln Telford gained their orange belts; Hamwar Hasanikiah and William Murfet both gained their Orange belt tags; Charles Murfet and Ava Jones both achieved their blue belts.

From the adult’s class, Konrad Dlugosz gained his orange belt and Lee Grint his Blue.

“I am extremely proud of those who took part in this grading and passed.

“Dedicating time and effort to a martial art is tough, particularly when there are so many other distractions.

“Having a discipline such as that taught in our Lifelong Learning Academy not only helps people become physically stronger, it also helps them to become mentally stronger too.

“These are two very important attributes in our modern-day society.” commented Instructor Lee Corner.
