Students at King James I Academy have benefitted from the opportunity to explore the university and career opportunities available at a Careers Fair recently held at the school.
A large number of representatives, from a diverse range of local and national businesses and organisations, attended the annual event, which is designed to help students understand the different pathways into the career of their choice.
The event also motivated students to focus on achieving the qualifications and life skills they will need to realise their ambitions.
Through talking to industry professionals, younger students were able to establish a firm career choice, and they can now work towards achieving the necessary entry requirements whilst Sixth Form students met representatives from a number of universities and considered the wide range of apprenticeship schemes available in and around the local area.
This year, more organisations than ever attended the event and students took full advantage of the opportunity to ask specific questions and take part in the variety of interactive activities.
Event Organiser and Teacher at the Academy, Mrs Dent said: “We believe that all schools have a responsibility to ensure that young people are fully equipped for a successful career; that means making sure that they are aware of their options and focused on their long-term goals. We would like to thank the organisations that supported the event and so kindly gave us their time.”
