Boxing club gears up for home show

Spennymoor’s boxers are looking to their home show on Saturday 11 October.

Spennymoor Boxing Academy is proud to announce its home show on Saturday 11 October, when they will welcome Ardoyne Holy Cross Boxing Club from Belfast to the North East.

Earlier this year, the Academy travelled across to Belfast to take part in their home show.

The event was packed with competitive bouts, and although Spennymoor came out on top overall, it was much more than just results.

The hospitality shown by Ardoyne Holy Cross was outstanding, and the trip proved to be a fantastic team bonding experience for the boxers and coaches. Friendships were formed, respect was earned, and the spirit of amateur boxing shone through.

Now it’s Spennymoor’s turn to return that generosity, and they are determined to give their visitors from Belfast the same warm welcome here in Spennymoor.

With an exciting card of local and visiting talent, they are confident it will be a night to remember for both boxers and spectators.

“As ever, nights like this would not be possible without the help of those who continue to support us,” said Rob Ellis, Head Coach of Spennymoor Boxing Academy.

“I would like to personally thank Spennymoor town councillors and our dedicated sponsors for standing by the Academy.

“Their backing ensures we can keep providing affordable opportunities for young people in the community to learn, grow, and succeed through the sport of boxing.

“Tickets for the home show will be available on the door, and we encourage the local community to come along, show their support, and enjoy a brilliant evening of grassroots boxing.

“Whether you’re a regular follower of the sport or simply looking for a great night out, the atmosphere will be electric, and the action in the ring won’t disappoint.
