Ferryhill Town Council has announced that the latest group to receive funding through its Members Initiative Fund (MIF) is Mainsforth Amateur Boxing & Fitness Club.
Richard O’Neill, representing the club, attended a cheque presentation at Ferryhill Town Hall, where Cllr Angus Ferguson presented him with a cheque for £450 from his MIF allocation.
Funds donated through the scheme will be used to enable promotional signage to be created on the club’s minibus.
Cllr Ferguson said: “I am delighted to be able to contribute funds towards Mainsforth Amateur Boxing and Fitness Club.
“The club work extremely hard developing young people’s fitness and boxing talent and providing young people with a worthwhile activity in which to engage.
“Funding will enable the club to promote their services, which in turn will help develop the club’s membership and hopefully attract sponsorship.”
