Spennymoor Boxing Academy recently had two female boxers, Macie Davies and Izzy Dooney, represent the TTW girls development squad in an international competition and both returned with silver medals.
Head coach Rob Ellls commented: “Both girls are great talents and are practically brand new to boxing in comparison to others.
“They have a bright future ahead of them.“
The club are taking a team of 13 boxers to compete in Belfast on 7 March and are working hard to ensure boxers are in top shape and fully prepared for this amazing opportunity.
Boxers did a sponsored run on 15 February to raise funds to pay for the ever rising costs.
The club are a registered community sports club and coaching staff have volunteered their time free of charge to keep youngsters off the street for almost 35 years.
