Big Brass Bus at Full Moon Market

Cllr Sam Zair, Lynn Albury from Butterwick Hospice, James Wilson of Durham Markets Company and Heather Price from Eats of Spain, one of the traders at the Full Moon Market.

The Full Moon Street Food Market is joining the Big BRASS Bus when it comes to Bishop Auckland Market Place on Thursday 18th July.

For one month only, the popular monthly street food market is moving to a Thursday evening for this special event, which will combine live music with children’s entertainment and the street food stalls.

The Full Moon Street Food Market will be open in Bishop Auckland Market Place from 4pm to 9pm, with a wide variety of food and drink vendors, supplying savoury and sweet food, and drinks.

The Big BRASS Bus will join the evening’s events from 6-8pm with performances by Back Chat Brass and Break Out Brass. Additionally, there will be free face painting and storytelling for children between 4-8pm.

The evening’s events are supported by Cllr Sam Zair, with funding from the AAP Neighbourhood Budget and Small Grants Initiative.

Cllr Zair said: “This promises to be an ideal evening to come out with friends and family into the town centre.

“With the appeal of both the Big BRASS bus and the Full Moon Street Food Market, we hope we’ll also be welcoming people from further afield.

“It’s another opportunity to enjoy Bishop Auckland at its best, and a great boost for the local economy.”

Colin Wilkes, Managing Director of Durham Market which organises the Full Moon Market along with the Durham Street Food Project, added: “The evening street food markets are growing in popularity each month. Combining with the Big BRASS Bus in July will be an extra special evening with world-class live music, as well as food flavours from across the globe!

“We’d like to thank Cllr Zair for his support, and wish everyone a thoroughly enjoyable summer’s evening in the heart of Bishop Auckland.”
