This week Ferryhill Station Ambassadors for Community Change were out and about to help make their community cleaner and safer. They filled up their dog poo bag dispenser in the Surtees Door Step Park and updated Ferryhill Town Council notice board with an RSPCA poster supporting their #bangoutoforder campaign.
Glenys from Approach Too said: “The Ambassadors are asking people to be considerate this bonfire season and attend an organised display rather than a private display. Thousands of pets, horses and livestock are affected by fireworks. Many hurt themselves in reaction to the noise and flashes or, in the worst cases, it can cause death.
“If you do intend to have a private display, please let friends and neighbours know so that they can prepare their pets and animals. Thank you to the shops in the area who spoke to the Ambassadors about the sale of fireworks.”
