Ferryhill Athletic returned to league duty on Saturday when they entertained Belmont United and had to share the spoils with a 1-1 draw.
A large crowd spurred the Athletic on and they played some great football in the early stages but couldn’t find the back of the net as the first half remained goalless. On 60 minutes Kieron Richardson put Ferryhill ahead before the visitors equalised.
The second half was a much more even affair although the Athletic created enough chances overall to have won the match, but they didn’t help their cause late on by giving away lots of unnecessary free kicks and putting themselves under pressure.
Next up it’s back to cup action and a trip to Coxhoe Athletic in the First Round of the Washington Aged People’s Trophy. Kick off is at 2pm.
