Residents told me ASB was their top priority and that is why I have made it mine.
Soon after I was elected, I was the first Police and Crime Commissioner in the country to appoint an ASB champion to spearhead multi-agency action to address persistent anti-social behaviour.
Recently ASB Help, published a national report on how ASB Case Reviews were being applied across the country and highlighted victims in some areas were not getting the support they need or deserve.
That is something I am determined does not happen here.
How Do Case Reviews Work?
- If you have previously reported three (or more) incidents of ASB within the last six months, you can request a case review.
- Upon receipt of a request, your case will be reviewed and informed of the outcome.
- If the threshold is met, you will be offered support from my Victims Care and Advice Service (VCAS), who will guide you through the process.
- An Independent Chair will lead the case review.
- You will be given the opportunity to attend the meeting to read out your statement or you can provide a written statement that will be read out.
- Following the meeting you will be provided with an action plan.
- If you remain dissatisfied, you will have up to 14 days following the completion of your action plan to appeal.
In County Durham and Darlington, we are leading the way tackling ASB. By removing barriers and improving services we are doing all we can to ensure victims needs are being met and ASB tackled.
