Last week, the fantastic Ambassadors for Community Change from all the primary schools and school leaders from Ferryhill School took off for a flying visit to London.
Glenys from Approach Too said: “We can’t thank this year’s Ambassadors for Community Change and Ferryhill School Leaders enough for all their hard work and enthusiasm in bringing about positive changes to Ferryhill.
“The visit was also to show our children and young people Westminster and Downing Street, the seat of our democracy to show where debate and conversations happen which shape and protect our democracy.
“If children and young people know what is happening, then they have the choice to accept or change what is happening.”
Glenys added, “This year we were humbled to receive a High Sheriff’s Award which enabled us to finance this trip.
“A big thank you goes out to all the people in our wonderful community who support the children and young people and give them the opportunities to make a real difference.
“Many thanks to Ferryhill Town Council and councillors, Livin, Durham County Council Civic Pride and Neighbourhood Wardens, Ferryhill Neighbourhood Police, Val Watson, Chris Orton, Stuart ‘Rupert Bear’ Trotter and obviously the Ferryhill and Chilton Chapter.
“And finally, a special thank you also to both Paul Howell and Joy Allen PCC for their amazing encouragement and support, it really is appreciated.”
