The Co-operative Funeralcare in Shildon recently sponsored the Waverley Terrace Allotments Leek Club Show, and the club were kind enough to return the proceeds of their raffle to Funeralcare to donate to a charity of their choice.
As the new charity partnership between The Co-operative Group and The British Red Cross is a campaign to tackle loneliness and social isolation in communities, The Shildon Community Bus was chosen to receive the £50 donation, as it enables people to get out and about and make new friends.
Barbara Bates, admin/arranger at Shildon Funeralcare, called at the Community Bus office to deliver the cheque.
