Agreed move for Spennymoor Post Office to nearby premises

Post Office Ltd has agreed to relocate Spennymoor Post Office in August to a new, nearby, location at 43 Cheapside, Spennymoor, DL16 6QE, which was the former Lloyds Bank.

It will continue to operate as one of our main style branches, offering the same range of services as currently.

There will be five serving positions in total; one screened, three open plan and a Post Office serving point at the retail counter. The current postmaster will continue to operate the branch. Opening hours will be unchanged.

The postmaster is withdrawing Post Office services from the current site at Iceland, Oxford Street, Spennymoor, DL16 6YQ at the end of its lease. It will close on Monday 17 August at 5.30pm with the new branch opening on Tuesday 18 August at 11.30am.

The premises, which is currently empty, is to undergo a refurbishment to incorporate Spennymoor Post Office and retail of cards, gifts and stationery.

Time restricted roadside parking is available outside of the new location with dedicated disabled parking available approximately 60 metres away along Cheapside. There are also works currently taking place to build a free car park opposite the new location.
