A man has been charged with affray and witness intimidation following a burglary in Shildon earlier this month.
The 29-year-old was arrested following a media appeal and brought into custody to be interviewed.
He was subsequently charged with affray and two counts of witness intimidation and appeared at court this week. He did not enter any pleas.
He was remanded into prison and will appear at Durham Crown Court on February 17.
Detective Sergeant Lorraine Medd, from South Durham CID said: “We will not tolerate this sort of intimidating behaviour in our community and will do everything in our power to bring offenders to justice.”
