Spennymoor Town Mayor, Councillor Billy McAloon and his wife, Christine, hosted their Mayoress at Home event in Spennymoor Town Hall on Saturday 12 September, to raise money for his fundraising campaign this year, Spennymoor Boxing Academy.
The Mayor was extremely pleased with the turnout at the event, which included a raffle, tombola and auction, and the total raised exceeded £800.
The Mayor said: “I would like to thank everyone who gave up their Saturday morning to come along and support us, and I would also like to thank the numerous people and businesses who have donated money and prizes to my campaign.
“Rest assured that all gifts will be put to good use during my term in office as I have several other events planned, including my Christmas Charity Night on Friday 11 December.
“Details of future events will be revealed nearer the time.”
