4 Churches Together walked for 2 miles during their December walk on a chilly Sunday afternoon.

“From the fields around Kirk Merrington we could just make out Durham Cathedral and Penshaw Monument in the distance. As it was nearly Christmas, at the end, we treated ourselves to mince pies and mulled wine!

“Our next walk will be on Sunday 15 February starting at the carpark on Whitworth Road (the road from Spennymoor to Page Bank). From there, we have a few choices, depending on the conditions, but we will aim to do a 3 – 4 mile stroll.

“Everyone from all 4 churches is more than welcome to join our first amble of 2026.”
