Last Sunday morning, Ferryhill Town Youth Under 10’s played host to Greatham Whites in their first home league game of the season.
Ferryhill started brightly and passed the ball really well.
Soon the chances came for the home side and were created by some cool defensive work and passing from the back by Carlton, George and William.
The latter pair produced some quality deliveries into the box when they were able to get forward. Jamie linked the play up superbly in midfield and the pace of Marc and Zach broke through the Greatham defence on numerous occasions only scoring one goal each for their efforts to make it 2-0 at the break.
The second half was much the same, but a break against the run of play and a mix up in defence allowed Greatham to pull one back.
Panic didn’t set in though and Ferryhill won a free kick on the edge of the area which William stepped up and smashed left footed into the roof of the net. The fourth quickly followed as Marc pounced on a great corner from the right by William to bury it in the bottom corner.
Aidan was called into action on a couple of occasions but dealt with the shots comfortably. Greatham scored a late consolation goal before Aaron came on and was soon into the thick of it up front.
Reuban in midfield and Noah at the back continued their good starts to the season and ensured a Ferryhill victory.
The second game was one way traffic as Ferryhill scored four without reply. Aaron grabbed a brace with Jamie and Reuban notching the other goals. The team were solid at the back as, yet again, Samantha and Noah shut out any threat of a Greatham attack.
Overall, it was another positive result and performance from the Ferryhill players.
