Over the last two weeks Trades4Care have been carrying out the decoration of Woodhouse Close Community Centre.
The team have been supported on this project by construction students Matthew Walker and Thomas Wright-Pickles from Bishop Auckland College, as well as Jack Walker and Stevielee Archer from New College Durham and Jess from County Durham Resilience.
Michael Ramage, group team leader from Trades4Care said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure to be able to support a great local charity that goes above and beyond for local families.
“It’s been lovely to meet all the staff that do so much great work at the community centre and also all the young adults involved on the project.
“It’s good to see the students’ confidence grow and gain the work experience that they need while helping a local charity.
“Personally I have really enjoyed my two weeks supporting the local young adults on this project.
“I would also like to thank all the staff for their lovely sweet treats and cups of tea.”
Anne Ramshaw, Centre Manager, said: “It’s amazing how bright and spacious the community centre now feels.
“Trades4Care have been amazing, nothing has been a problem for them working around our activities and busy centre.
“The team have been friendly, professional and very hard working, taking real pride in their work.
“I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing decorating done.”
