The weekend’s heavy snow put paid to the Northern League fixture list with just one match, Sunderland West End v Horden surviving Storm Bert.
Shildon had been scheduled to host Northallerton Town and the game has now been been rescheduled for next Tuesday, 3 December, at Dean Street with a 7.30pm kick off.
The postponement means the Railwaymen have enjoyed an extra week’s rest ahead of their visit to league leaders, Redcar Athletic this weekend.
The sides have already met this season and Shildon will be looking to avenge a 1-2 home defeat in August when the visitors came from a goal behind to score twice in the final seven minutes and claim all three points.
A rollercoaster of a season has seen the Railwaymen win 13 of their 22 games, but also lose eight while drawing just once.
Currently sitting fifth in the table, their revival after a poor start has seen them win nine of the last ten games across all competitions.
Meanwhile, the club has announced that it will once again be hosting a Christmas event at the football ground on Monday 23 December from 12.30pm.
There will be a kids buffet and a present from Santa, all of which is free.
There is also the chance to win panto tickets at Darlington Hippodrome to see Sleeping Beauty via a free raffle on the day.
Last year’s event proved extremely popular and places are limited so the advice is to book early. All the details are in the poster below.
