The Veterans Hub received a warm wave of community support at the Picnic in the Park we hosted.
The event saw a fantastic turnout, with families, veterans, and local organisations coming together to enjoy the afternoon.
The Veterans Hub, which provides vital support and camaraderie for ex-service personnel, was proud to be part of the event.
Attendees enjoyed a variety of activities and refreshments, thanks to the generous contributions of local partners.
Shildon Alive played a key role by providing food for attendees.
Jules Howe from Wellbeing for Life brought creativity and joy to the day with engaging arts and crafts for children, alongside valuable wellbeing resources.
Elizabeth Oaks from Durham County Council’s Wellbeing Team was a great support not only in the kitchen but also through providing engaging sport activities for the children.
Thankfully the weather held off so we could enjoy the Park.
The event highlighted the strength of collaboration between local organisations and the importance of recognising and supporting veterans within the community.
The next Veterans Hub meeting will be Wednesday 17 September at the Resthouse 11am-2pm.
