Unique feat for Home Show boxers

Bishop Auckland Boxing Club’s fighters celebrate a clean sweep at their home show.

After contesting in the nationals throughout October, Brad Smith and Joseph Dowson both boxed through the tournament, winning each week against opposition from across the UK.

This led them to the national final in Bridlington with both winning their respective weight category, making them both two-time national champions.

The result solidifies the club’s reputation as one of the best nationwide.

Moving on to the following weekend, the club held its home show in Evenwood at the beginning of December.

Bishop Auckland Boxing Club’s boxers exceeded all expectations with a clean sweep, winning all of their 15 contests.

This feat is almost completely unheard of, and a testament to the hard work and dedication put in consistently by not only the boxers, but also their coaches.

With Christmas quickly approaching, the club has a couple of boxers out in the next week before taking a short break ahead of preparations for the youth national championships in January.
