Bishop Auckland Community Partnership, which manages the Four Clocks Community Resource Centre on Newgate Street as one of its seven projects, has announced receipt of a two-year grant from the Garfield Weston Foundation to support its running costs and community work.
The centre, which has been a feature of the town since 2002, has a mixture of tenants such as Citizens Advice County Durham, Princes Trust, Time For You Tearoom, and meeting rooms to hire by the hour.
It also runs its own projects, covering all ages, from Bump & Beyond, Time 4 Toddlers, a Friday Club to alleviate loneliness and isolation in older people, a Memory Club, a Family Contact Centre, and the allotment project, Cultivate 4 Life.
