Gladys Short has run the self-funding KJ1 Walking Netball Group since 4 October 2018.
She says: “All sessions have taken place at King James Community Centre on Southchurch Road from 6:30pm – 7:30pm each Thursday evening.
“The cost to all participants is £3 for the session but we always encourage new players to come along, the first session being free of charge.
“We are affiliated to the northern area of AENA and were ‘Highly Commended’ in 2024 at the North of England Netball Awards Ceremony.
“We are a great social group of ladies, travelling from Darlington, the Bishop Auckland area and the Dales, who want to return to netball for exercise and well-being irrespective of age, fitness levels or ability.
“Do come along and join us – all are welcome.”
