The Original Factory Shop in Shildon is organising several fundraising events for community causes this year, as well as events for their chosen charity, Quinn’s Retreat.
The shop has set up a donation station in store to help alleviate period poverty.
Not being able to afford access to sanitary products to manage the most intimate and regular occurrence in a girl’s life is a reality that thousands of girls face.
It is estimated that over 137,000 children across the UK have missed school days due to period poverty.
The store has teamed up with Greenfields Community and Arts College to help with this campaign.
They are asking for the public’s help by donating sanitary products in store to help make a difference to the wellbeing of young teens in the area.
